Taiwanese high school students have made a remarkable mark on the international stage, excelling in two prestigious science competitions. At the International Biology Olympiad held in Lithuania, the team from Taiwan achieved an impressive feat by winning four gold medals. This success was mirrored at the International Chemistry Olympiad in Uzbekistan, where Taiwanese students secured three gold medals and one silver, ranking third globally.
The performance in the biology competition was particularly noteworthy, as all four Taiwanese participants managed to earn gold medals. They stood out among over 300 students representing 78 different countries, showcasing their exceptional talents and dedication to the field of biology.
Meanwhile, in the chemistry competition, Taiwan demonstrated its academic prowess by securing a prominent position. The chemistry team achieved three gold medals and a silver, further solidifying Taiwan’s reputation in the global scientific community. This accomplishment places Taiwan third in the world rankings for the chemistry Olympiad.
