Loong Air has inaugurated a direct flight route linking Chengdu Tianfu International Airport to Taichung International Airport, marking the airline’s debut in cross-strait services. This new route is set to enhance travel connectivity between southwestern China and central Taiwan, with flights scheduled to operate twice a week on Tuesdays and Saturdays.
The introduction of this service reflects an effort to strengthen the transportation links between the two regions, offering more options for passengers traveling between Chengdu and Taichung. As a result, Taichung International Airport expands its offerings to a total of 31 operating or announced routes, of which 20 are regular services and 11 are charter routes.
With the addition of Chengdu as a destination, Taichung Airport now serves three scheduled cross-strait destinations. This new route complements existing services to Nanjing and Qingdao, providing travelers with increased flexibility and convenience.
The launch of this route by Loong Air is a significant step in improving cross-strait travel options, potentially fostering greater interaction and exchange between the regions served. It highlights ongoing efforts by airlines to cater to the growing demand for direct travel connections between major cities in China and Taiwan.
